Second International ToT programme

BasicNeeds successfully conducted it’s second International Training of Trainers programme from 1st to 11th July 2006 at Riverina Hotel, Beruwela, South of Sri Lanka - attracting 16 participants from five countries; India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and Sri Lanka.

The principle of selecting participants who are able to foster a network that ultimately supports a large number of families is proven. BasicNeeds has estimated that each participant running one workshop during a year and identifying ten volunteers will reach up to two hundred families. The ToT programme has enabled participants to conduct training in their own regions, building up local capacity to address the mental health needs of disaster-affected people.

BasicNeeds will conduct its third programme in February 2007.
