Basic Needs international training programme (ITP) conducts training of trainees (TOT) programmes on development oriented psychosocial care and this is the place for passed-out trainees to discuss their problems and interest with resource persons, programme organisers and coordinators and share their experiences with each other.

Orientation for managerial level staff of Prova Society

Following the ToT in May, Enamul Kabir conducted a training session on 15th & 16th June for managerial staff at their training centre.

The purpose of the training programme was to provide basic information to the staff of the organisation regarding mental health and development so that mental health status of disaster and other related affected people is improved. The following contents were discussed in brief during the session: Community mental health; Mental health issues in relation to disasters; Common mental health disorders and related problems associated with trauma; Psychosocial trauma; What happens during a disaster and what needs to be done during a disaster; Animator skills and role of an animator; Psychosocial Interventions and techniques and psychosocial counselling.

At the end of the training session participants will be able to use this knowledge and skills to identify mental ill people and motivate the family and community to rehabilitate them within the family as well as in the community.
